Environment group

Our aim is to push for excellence in local planning and development, and to ensure the town is not on the back foot when developers and central government push forward plans. We want to work on our own ideas and help shape how particular areas are developed.

What kind of things does the Environment Group do?

  • Reviews and comments on planning applications and planning policies 

  • Seeks to conserve the town’s historical fabric and enhance its environment

  • Recognises design excellence

  • Maintains a strong link to Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council planning department

  • Organises talks and visits

  • Maintains a local list of historic and important buildings
